Hazaribagh (Jharkhand): A Jharkhand had to pay a terrible price for not being able to repay the loan for the purchase of a tractor. A debt collector ran over the farmer’s pregnant daughter under this tractor when he came to collect the debt.

The shocking incident happened under Ichak police station in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand on Thursday. According to the police, the farmer had bought a tractor several months ago thanks to a loan from a large private loan agency. However, he was unable to pay the loan installments.

A team of debt collectors from the finance company had gone to the farmer’s home to collect the pending payments. A dispute had arisen between the farmer and the tax collectors over the settlement of the debt. The farmer’s three-month-pregnant daughter also came out of the house and started arguing with debt collectors. The accused then crushed the pregnant woman under the tractor. The woman was rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

A relative of the deceased claimed that employees of the private loan company suddenly entered the house without informing them.

DSP Manoj Ratan Chothe told ANI news agency that a murder case has been registered against four people, including the accused debt collector and the manager of the private loan company.

Anish Shah, managing director and CEO of the private loan company, expressed his grief over the incident. He also said on Friday that the whole matter would be looked into by the organization. He also assured cooperation in the investigation of the case.
