Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered officials to form the “State Capital Region of Uttar Pradesh” along the lines of the National Capital Region of Delhi (NCR) , keeping in mind future requirements.

Adityanath on Friday held a review meeting of the Department of Housing and Town Planning, the Housing Development Board and all town development authorities via video conference at his official residence on Friday, according to an official statement.

Through continuous and coordinated efforts, the state capital, Lucknow, is now equipped with state-of-the-art urban facilities,” the Chief Minister said at the meeting.

People from different cities want to come here and make it their permanent residence, he said.

Population pressure is also increasing in neighboring districts and there are sometimes complaints of unplanned development. Keeping in mind the needs of the future, the State Capital Region of Uttar Pradesh should be formed along the lines of the National Capital Region (NCR), he said. .

Adityanath has asked officials to prepare a proposal in this regard and Lucknow and its surrounding districts like Unnao, Sitapur, Rae Bareli, Barabanki, Kanpur Nagar and Kanpur Dehat could be included in the SCR.

After deliberating on all aspects, a detailed action plan should be submitted as soon as possible, the chief minister said.

When deciding on development projects, the situation that will arise in the next 50 years should be taken into consideration while the authorities should consider doing their own financial management for their projects, he said.

Yogi said the zero tolerance policy against the land mafia will continue and ordered that the strictest measures be taken for every complaint of illegal land possession, whether government or private.

Forced possession of the land of the poor by anyone will not be tolerated in Uttar Pradesh, he said.

He also called for speedy work on the action plan to develop Ayodhya as a solar city as this will give the city a unique identity on the world stage.

The world will receive a great message of energy conservation from Ayodhya, Adityanath added.
