College football’s regular season is just weeks away from kicking off, so it’s time to take a look at one last preseason bowl projection. We’re starting to glean valuable information about the training camp. A once hazy picture is beginning to take shape regarding the prospects of some teams who could control the pulse of the 2022 campaign.

“I think you know the value I place on the quarterback position,” the Texas coach said. Steve Sarkisian said at the Big 12 Media Days of the Longhorns’ heated quarterback battle. “In my humble opinion, it’s the most important position in sport for many reasons. I think the more quality players you can have in this room for the healthy competition, to push each other, to prepare for their future but also for the short -term future of playing a season is of vital importance. We have the unique luxury of having Map of Hudson, Quinn ewers, Malik Murphy. These guys are all quality players.”

A few offseason notes as reminders – the annual Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla., was renamed ReliaQuest Bowl after losing its title sponsor after two decades. The game will be played Jan. 2 and will feature an SEC team against a Big Ten or ACC program.
